Can you tell us a little bit about your job?

I am a Recruitment Partner with Decision Toolbox. I have been with the company a little over a year and have the golden opportunity to work out of my home office. We assist companies fill key positions with top notch candidates. Our model is efficient, fast and affordable for companies of all sizes. We have an excellent support structure that works seamlessly as one team focused on a common goal. It is a wonderfully unique opportunity!

Can you briefly describe your usual day – from the time you wake up to the time you to go bed?

I get up around 7am and share some special one-on-one time with my kids. We walk our six year-old to the bus, which looks like a parade with our three dogs! Back to the house to answer a few emails and put out any quick fires. We get the other one ready for pre-school, feed the dogs and feed the fish…oh and feed me too!

My day zooms past interviewing, talking with clients and building strategy around successful recruiting. My day ends late, because many of my clients are on the West coast. My flexible schedule allows me time to spend special moments with my kids during school functions, school parties, lunches and special events. We eat dinner, give the kids a bath, read stories, say our prayers and the kids are off to bed. My husband and I spend some time chatting and taking care of some household chores and my day finally ends right after Leno, usually around midnight.

Best thing about your job: the flexibility, the people and the support structures that make my time very efficient.

Most challenging thing about your job: Keeping all the balls in the air. My son doesn’t understand “why I talk with my friends all day.” I have to help my kids understand that Mom works and that it is good for us all!!

What is your childcare arrangement and how happy are you with it?

We are lucky enough to have a relative who lives with us. She is truly a blessing and the kids love her! She provides us the opportunity to spend more quality time with the kids doing family activities. She helps with all facets of our household. We couldn’t do it without her.
