1.) What do you do?I have my own business that I do from home with the help of my online support called FourPointMoms. We do some marketing and set up accounts for an international wellness company. I help other moms do the same thing, which helps them to be able to stay home with their children. My website is www.ForMomsKids.com.
2.) How did you end up in your current career?
Well, I was a special education teacher for five years. I had two children at the time and was quite miserable, to say the least. My mother-in-law watched the kids, which has its good points and bad points. Our relationship was NOT good at this time. We constantly fought about how the children were to be handled. So I approached my husband about me staying home and so that’s what I did. Well, it didn’t take me long before I wanted an income for myself. I have had my own income since I was 12, and I needed to feel like I was contributing financially to our household. So I searched for hours online for some work to do and found FourPointMoms. Once I heard their information, I knew I wanted to be a part of their company. After two years, we have added another member to our family, and I’m still here and going strong!
3.) What's your dream job?
If you had asked me this a few years ago, my answer may have been different, but my dream job is exactly what I’m doing right now. I’m home with my children, I am helping other moms be able to stay home with their children, I am helping people convert their homes over to safer, healthier products, AND I still have time in the day for myself to do some crocheting, scrapping, or chilling in front of the TV with my hubby! Ultimately, I want to make enough money where I can get out in the community and help more. I dream about setting up my own non-profit organization to help old people that can’t afford the basic necessities, help children who don’t have food or familial support, help families who just can’t get ahead. That’s where I want to be in life.
4.) Tell us a few things on your Life To-Do List
Well, I think most importantly, I want to travel more with my family. I want to take our kids all over the United States and all over the world so they can see and experience different lifestyles and cultures. I want to retire early and spend my days, not only being available for my children, but also spend quality time with my husband and grow old happy!
5.) What's the toughest challenge for you when it comes to juggling work and family?Time management is a challenge when you work from home. It's hard to have a "schedule." I have a tendency to throw myself into my work because I want to be successful and he isn't always on board with that. I have had to make a conscious effort to back off sometimes and stay focused on the activities that are going to move my business forward when it's business time. I also have to make myself do the things that have to be done around the house before I hit my business and it has been working wonderfully.
