While on leave from teaching, Buffalo, New York-based 07Mom decided to start her own company (with her 1-year-old son in tow). Just a short while later, it's starting to take off, with her products mentioned in publications including The Boston Globe.

1.) What do you do?

I am an elementary teacher, as well as a budding entrepreneur and blogger.

2.) How did you end up in your current career?

After going to college for Travel and Transportation Management, I realized the part I liked most was the actual travel, not the management. So, I went back to school for education. While on leave from teaching after having my son, I came up with an idea for a new kind of diaper bag (check out the Over Tote™ at www.elliebags.com) and started my journey as an entrepreneur, which led to blogging.

3.) What's your dream job?

I’m working on figuring that out. I’d love to do something that included writing, teaching, networking, and being creative. Most of all, I’d love something flexible that allows me to spend a lot of time with my son.

4.) Tell us a few things on your Life To-Do List.

Wow, that’s a big question. There are certainly places I’d like to travel to. Traveling, seeing new places, and meeting new people has always been a love of mine. And there are so many places I can’t wait to show my son. I want to be someone who gives to others and makes a difference. Most of all, I believe I’m here to be the best mother, wife, daughter, friend . . . I can be. And on a lighter note, ice cream is always on my to-do list.

5.) What's for you the toughest challenge when it comes to juggling work and family?

Time. I’m teaching, running a business and a blog, trying to keep up the house and still have clean clothes to wear Monday morning! Going back to work took such a big chunk out of the time I spend with my family, but I’m enjoying every moment we’re all together.
