It's not a "lifesaver" in that it doesn't save me time, but I wanted to say that I still just LOVE the "my day snapshot" here on WIM. It's such a great way to stay motivated, and then go back later and see little snippets of my life as a working mom. LOVE IT.”

SLEEP! I really try and make sure that with all that I have going on - I get enough sleep, even if it means goign down when the kids go down!
Snuggli has been a lifesaver for me. It helped calm my extrememly colicky baby & I've lost about 10 lbs. Ofcourse my daughter is too big to wear all day but I still pack it in the stroller of wear her for short walks around the block or to the store.
stop writting the same grocery list over and over and over... make a grocery list that goes in the same order as your grocery store.. then just highlight the items you want to pick up. You can even post it on the refigerator so when someone uses the last of something they just highlight it. Imagine being able to just grab your grocery list off the fridge and heading out the door.. It's a great feeling. Give it a try. Takes a little time to get it made up and saves you tons of time from there on.
Stretch as soon as you wake up. It gets the blood flowing, clears your head, and makes it easier to start functioning first thing in the morning.
Stuck at a red light? Feeling your blood pressure rising? De-stress by training yourself to think of something positive you can associate with stop lights, then use that image to discharge tension. I take a deep breath, exhale, and think of how the green and red lights remind me of our Christmas tree when I was a kid. It's amazing how I don't notice how tense I am until I do this. It's also amazing how something most drivers dread -- stop lights -- can become a nice spot to take a short break. It's just a matter of changing your attitude.
Summer chores: A mom I know motivates her kids to help out around the house during the summer vacation by holding a Summer Chore daily lottery. Each morning the kids each take two or three slips of paper out of the ballot box. Each slip has a small chore written on it, like "wipe the bathroom floor." By making it fun, this clever mom gets stuff done!
Take a phone picture of your kids to show others in case they get lost. I've read so many techniques that one can use if their child gets lost, like taking a Sharpie and writing your phone number on their arm, or putting a business card in their pocket, and even putting their allergy information in their backpacks. BUT, what if someone asks you "What do they look like? What are they wearing?" If your child is lost, I'm pretty sure it would be hard to give such details at that moment in time. Taking a close up facial shot, and a full body shot of your child(ren) before leaving home when you're going out into very crowded areas is a simple thing that you can do to insure that if your child does get lost, you can show passersby exactly what the child is wearing and what s/he looks like.
Thankfully, no one is looking over my shoulder at work, so one of my me time squeezes is periodically checking facebook & now this site...for my daily dose of there is a life out there aside from work and being a mom.
Thanksgiving lifesaver! Prep ingredients in advance, package them in smaller portions, and stash them in the fridge. No cutting onions at the last minute!
