I am fortunate enough to have a best friend who's been in my life since I was five. Our mothers went to nursing school together, we attended the same small neighborhood church and went to the same school from Kindergarten through high school graduation, and were in each other's weddings. She knows me better than anyone else on the planet and vice versa. The kind of soul mates who can abbreviate an entire explanation using a single word or name from the past. But she lives 90 minutes away. So, every six months we meet in the middle for dinner to celebrate our respective birthdays. Just the two of us...no husbands, no kids, no interruptions...just two best friends laughing about the good times, crying about the tough ones, and swapping secrets. No matter how broke we are or how busy we get, we make this night happen twice a year. When I know I've got that on my calendar, I can get through just about anything!”

Dab a little teething gel (like Ambusol or Orajel or the generic equivalent) on a mosquito bite or bee sting to "take the itch away" -- the lidocaine in the gel numbs the skin the same way it numbs the gums.by Lylah M. Alphonse on 10th June 2008520Vote!
I got ruthless with email. I love email, but it was sucking up too much precious time. I check my inbox first thing -- often standing up so I don't get too comfortable! -- and review everything as quickly as possible. That way, when I sit down later to start work, I actually do *work*!by Diane on 10th June 2008170Vote!
I use technology to save time in my family's health care. Our clinic has an online records and communication system, and I use it to communicate with doctors, set up regular appointments, and renew prescriptions. No phone tag, no long waits on hold, it's much more efficient.by Daisy on 10th June 2008177Vote!
I make a menu for the entire week. My least favorite thing about meals is planning what we're going to eat, so I get all of that out of the way at one time.by mamajama on 9th June 2008178Vote!
I keep a running list of "stuff" in my planner. When something else I need to do pops in my head, I dump it on the list. That gets it out of my head and on paper, and I don't get stuck two hours later trying to remember what I need to do.by Kelly O on 9th June 2008174Vote!
Medela's Quick Clean Micro Steam bags are great for sanitizing breast pump parts at work, but you can also use them at home to zap the bottles, pacifiers, and teethers.by Lylah M. Alphonse on 6th June 2008167Vote!
