Cut down on dirty dishes. My mom bought me some red plastic meal baskets, like the ones used at 50's diners such as Hudson's Grill. I keep a stack of them in a drawer in my kitchen and the kids and I use them for breakfast, lunch and snacks. Line them with a cloth/paper napkin and you're set. I use them to serve sandwiches and chips, cheese and crackers, popcorn, toast, bagels and lox (I'll add lettuce to the bottom of the basket), wedges of fruit and cheese and more. When the meal or snack is over, simply toss out the napkin (or put it in the laundry to wash) and you're done. Sometimes we rinse the baskets when we finish, but it's usually not necessary. These baskets have brought unexpected blessing to my little home. The baskets are fun, easy to use and have saved my son and I countless hours of washing and drying stacks of dishes. Yea”
