I am 35 and a first-time mom. I have a fantastic little boy and husband. I work full-time as well as operate a cake-decorating business on the side. I am a very busy person who does not sleep very much these days. My goal is to turn my hobby into a full-time business and be able to spend more time with my son.

I'm a full-time working mother of two, trying to balance family, career and sanity. lMy family give me comfort, and a good deal of humor, which helps keep me grounded. I love to write and read, ski with my family, watch lots of movies, and play laser tag. I haven't managed it yet, but wouldn't it be great to do laser tag on the ski sloaps
After having my oldest child, I took a break from my career as a Cash Manager/Product Manager and have considered myself a non-working Mom. I've just finally realized that I am indeed a working mom even though I am not following my original career path.
I have been working part time in retail sales for the past 6 years. I am also a school district treasurer and avid school volunteer (o.k. the volunteer doesn't get paid, but my kids and I do benefit). I have also just recently started to focus my efforts on an online store selling my handcrafted creations, primarily children's clothing, bags, purses, scarves and some small toys.
I am really hoping that I can make my business successful enough to help take care of my family. My children are thriving with their current school/home schedule and I do not want to alter that by going back to a standard office full time. I guess I'm looking for the balance that all us working Mom's strive for.
I was a clinical psychotherapist before I had my children. WHen I decided to stay home I wanted to turn some of my hobbies into a business. I created Whimsy By Design in 2007 and then Kids' Keys To Success in June 2008. I love being home with my kids and learning something new everyday.
I live in New Hampshire and work from my studio. I sell personalized artwork for children's rooms and spaces. My husband and I are waiting to adopt a baby from Taiwan! In the meantime I am growing my business so I can stay home as much as possible. :)

A short and loud woman gave birth to a tiny clown. That clown is known as Salem. Her teeth may be as sharp as knives but she hasn't a tail, we have checked.
