I'm a 40-year-old single mom with a gorgeous 3-year-old daughter who's big on testing me at the current time. I work fulltime and also have a great boyfriend.
I'm almost 40 but feel 18. I love being with my kids and my high-school sweetheart husband. We laugh a lot and spend a lot of time together as a family while also each having individual pursuits which are supported by the rest of the "home team."
I'm a not-so-everyday mom to a teenager, two pre-schoolers and an infant who is seconds from being a toddler. I work from home, but with the baby being home I rarely get time for much work. One of my favorite things to do is update my blog, which allows me to review products, sites and books as well as make new virtual friends.
I grew up in Tennessee and always wanted to be a private detective. I chose a degree in journalism because I liked writing, and after seven years of serving as an editor, I've finally decided where I'd like my life to go.

I am an editor, journalist, and book consultant living in the San Francisco Bay Area. In addition to developing books and book proposals, I also edit op-ed columns for nationally syndicated writers from both the left and the right. I was a senior editor at Brill's Content magazine (RIP), the special sections editor for the Los Angeles Times, and columns editor for Literary Mama. I teach publishing-industry seminars for Mediabistro and have worked with publishers including Seal Press, Counterpoint Books, Soft Skull Press, Avalon Publishing Group, and Random House.
I was a stay-at-home mom for 7 years, and then I got divorced. I finished my English MA shortly after. I have worked as a special ed teacher, a college instructor, and an assistant director of a research institute for a medical school.
I returned home to work as a fulltime medical writing and editing consultant, two years ago. I have clients across the U.S. and Canada, and also blog for ParentDish, TV Squad, and The Life Sciences blogs at Weblogs Inc.
In the past six years, I have completely re-invented myself. I am eager to see what happens next.
