In 2008, a corporate downsizing was the impetus for serious introspection for me. Facing the 2nd cut in 2 years, I asked herself if I really wanted to remain in such a volatile environment. In addition to dodging the hatchet, I was dealing with my own personal struggle - trying to maintain superwoman status in corporate America and at home. After weeks of consideration I decided to take a severance package and leave my Fortune 100 employer in pursuit of my dream. With 3 children, an ambitious Harvard trained husband, a degree in Industrial Engineering and an MIT Sloan MBA I exited the predominantly male operations department of a large telecommunications company to launch Attaché Services. I have compassion for professional women who long to have a family and career but don’t know how to manage it - either they choose to devote their child-bearing years to their career, only to realize too late that they missed out on motherhood and marriage or they choose to abandon their career to care for their families, only to realize that returning to the workforce would not be so easy. I and my staff identify areas of improvement in a woman’s professional and personal life and offer solutions to simplify her often times complex and overwhelming life, allowing her to spend time doing the things that align with her values and priorities.

I'm a 31 year old mother and Civil Engineer who is trying to stay sane, have fun and figure things out. I'm a serious computer nerd, a techie and a gadget geek. In 2007, I wrote 400 pages of a book called Mastering AutoCAD Civil 3D 2008. In 2008, I will be writing two books: Mastering AutoCAD Civil 3D 2009 and Introducing AutoCAD Civil 3D 2009.
I blog semi-seriously at www.civil3drocks.com, and quite seriously at www.civil3d.com.
I'm constantly torn between work and family. I love my job but at the same time I love cleaning up spilled juice and kissing boo-boos and reading stories. I try to find balance by freelance work, writing technical manuals and limiting my travel, but it never seems to make everyone happy, especially not myself. So I am always trying to find that balance.
I'm a touch obsessive-compulsive when it comes to technology, learning and giving my kids the best shot at a meaningful and intellegent life.
