I live in a rural location in Pennsylvania. I started a home business less than a year ago and am still struggling to balance the separation of work at home from home. I do a lot of community volunteer work and am trying to get started in grant writing. I am also working on getting some of my children's stories published.
I am a chef, chauffeur and zookeeper (aka mom) on the verge of a major change. My youngest child is in high school and my oldest will begin college in the fall, so an empty nest is not far away. I am using this transition time to explore what I want to be when I grow up. My family enjoys food, wine and international travel. We live in beautiful Sonoma County and find joy in the scenery, people and cows every day.
My friend and partner, Rosemary Lichtman, and I have guided women through personal and family transitions in our psychotherapy practices for over 20 years.
In 2000, we partnered to create www.HerMentorCenter.com - providing information for midlife women and publishing a free monthly newsletter, "Stepping Stones." www. NourishingRelationships.blogspot.com is a community where women can find support and information about parents growing older and children growing up.
I am a mom to teenagers. One is in college and one in high school. I have a boy and a girl. I used to be a board certified lactation consultant and a high school English teacher. I have also been a high school administrator. Most of all I am a volunteer. I blog for fun!
