This is an interesting look at the percentage of working mothers by demographic. It is surprising that this percentage actually rises for the smallest metropolitan areas. However, for most of the areas the numbers remain the same across metropolitan breakdowns. What is most significant, however, is that even the lowest numbers indicate that more than 50% of mothers in any given area work in paid positions.
