If you have a kid (or more) in day care, you will be able to relate to this story in Newsweek. It makes sense that a child who is in day care gets sick more often than one who stays home. But here's the real news:

Scientists at the University of Arizona found that 2-year-olds who attend day care in the first six months of life have almost twice as many colds as stay-at-home kids. But they have a third fewer colds between the ages of 6 and 11, a time when missing school means missing writing and arithmetic, too.

How many times have your kids (and you) gotten sick since they started day care? Moms with older kids: Did they end up missing class less often than their peers by the time elementary school rolled around?
