If your child goes to day care for more than a year, she is more likely to misbehave through 6th grade. The good news is that she will be able to explain why she does it due to better vocabulary skills gained from being in daycare. At least according to new research that points to a higher incidence of minor behavioral problems and higher vocabulary skills among kids who are in day care – versus with a nanny or mom at home. So if you are one of the parents of the 2.3 million American children who attend day care centers, what do you do? Behave. Turns out parental guidance and genetics have a much stronger effect on child behavior than any other factor.

What do you think about this study? If you have kids in day care, are you having second thoughts or are you confident in your choice?
