If you needed an excuse to go shopping, here’s a new one: It can help your career. Large corporations are taking a fresh look at women-only networking events to encourage women to build stronger bonds with their colleagues and clients. And since few of us frequent cigar or golf clubs to network, like our male counterparts, companies are coming up with more feminine venues and ideas. One such event was organized around shoe shopping, for example.

Is this counterintuitive or helpful? Do women need separate networking events or does that go against the idea that men and women should be treated the same in the workplace? Sound off and let us know your thoughts!
