Do you suppress your emotions when you argue with your husband? According to new research, this is not a good idea and may lead to health issues or… death:
In men, keeping quiet during a fight didn’t have any measurable effect on health. But women who didn’t speak their minds in those fights were four times as likely to die during the 10-year study period as women who always told their husbands how they felt.
The underlying thesis is that when you suppress your communication and feelings this leads to serious psychological issues, which in turn translate into physical problems, from depression to eating disorders.
Are you vocal about your feelings and opinions when you argue with your husband? Or do you choose to say less than you might otherwise? Why?
