Now this is just really cool: For the first time in 60 (yes, this is not a typo) years a woman has won prestigious John Bates Clark medal, awarded every two years to the nation's most promising economist under the age of 40. In a field dominated by men, this is a really great achievement.

  • What's really interesting is that she is also a mom! Recent article highlighted on this site, Harvard and The Academic Glass Ceiling (http://www.workitmom.com/newsstory-52), made a point that it is really hard for women in academia to have a family and be successful in their field. This is a great case to show that it is possible!!!
