Time for some lighter fare – and a nice break from the onslaught of “not sure what to do with this information” studies and “let’s throw another punch in sahm vs whom never-ending-and-oh-so-not-the-point boxing match” articles. It’s TV pilot season and a number of new shows feature strong leading ladies, many of whom have to juggle work and family while looking fabulous at the same time.
There is See Jane Ryan, which chronicles the life of a tough investment banker (Heather Locklear) who returns to the male-dominated (what an understatement!) world of Wall Street after having a baby. Or perhaps Canterbury's Law is more up your alley; it stars Juliana Margulies as a defense attorney who takes on risky cases at the expense of her family life (her son apparently goes missing.)
Pilots often don’t make it past a few shows, if they get on the calendar at all, but if a few of the new shows can manage to create a somewhat realistic portrayal of what it’s like to be a working mom, we’re all eyes.
