*WHEREAS, the prospects of our nation and our children depend on the strength of its schools, America�s schools are not keeping pace with the demands of today�s world, and our schools are failing to prepare students for college, for careers, and for life:

More than one million students drop out of school every year;
The amount of time college students spend in remedial courses is growing;
Nearly half of high school graduates are not prepared with skills to advance beyond entry level jobs, employers estimate;

NOW, THEREFORE, WE the undersigned demand that the candidates for president of the United States of America � Republican, Democrat and Independent � provide a specific and detailed plan to provide every child the opportunity to attend a strong American school.
