i work because

it pays the bills, and Sallie Mae and the mortgage people want their money whether I work or not. But i actually enjoy getting out of the house and socializing, and I like what I do. There are many other working moms at my work, so I am surrounded by others in teh same situation, and it helps to be able to talk to them about sick kids, daycare, etc. I also think aside from the germ-y part of daycare, my son has benefited by being around other kids and has learned a lot there - which makes it easier for me knowing he is doing well and having fun while I'm at work.

I chuckled when I read the first part of you note. Because it's so true! It must be really nice to have coworkers who are in the same boat as you. That is definitely a drawback to working from home (you're pretty much alone).
