Remember, life is short...don't waste it!

I spent today at doctors appointments with my mom who has stage 4 breast cancer, with not many options.  As my best friend and an awesome Nana, it is difficult for me...but she is absolutely amazing!  I have learned so much from her over the last 8 years that she has been going through this.  All the people at the oncology center know her and adore her, she is counseling 2 other women going through breast cancer too.  Today she told me she wants to have pink and while balloons all over at her funeral, not just flowers...and she wants everyone to let them go outside when they leave to CELEBRATE her.  How cool is that?

Thank you to both of you for responding. It is so interesting how friendships on this site seem to pop up daily...I could never see a man doing this! I appreciate all you said and Shelly, you are right...Mom is very comfortable with where she is going. Hugs
I think it is very beautiful that you and mother are okay with this hard discussion. Enjoy your time with her and let her know that she is loved which you probably do already . It is the moments we cherrish those special moments that we look back in our memory and vision. hugs and kisses to you !:) and Shelleen may I say that I admire you most because of your bravery when you mother told you how she would like her burial service. Me and my sister have had that discussion with my mother and every time I think of it I get so emotional, but my mother always tells dont cry for because I goin home to glory! God Bless you and your family
That's really amazing. She must be a very strong woman!
