I
was a blues DJ in Boston when I was in college. That lead me to be on
the board of directors for Blues Trust Productions, the non-profit that
puts on the Boston Blues Festival. I have been involved with the
festival since the very first one.
I hit on my husband and he
was the first, and only, guy I ever hit on. We met in our first audio
class after I switched majors and he changed schools for the 3rd time.
I couldn't resist. Still can't;). I invited him on a tour of the
studio and asked him to fill in as my producer on my radio show. And
now we own an audio business and are working toward something larger.
The name of our company - Dandysound - is something we came up with in
a "break up" phase early in our relationship. Dan + Mandy = Dandy.
Get it? hee hee
I'm great at bartering. Friends bring me to antique stores with them
(and to Brimfield - the big antique fair in Massachusetts) so I can get
them good deals. I love to barter for my own antiques as well as
services: I've done work on my vet's web site in order to get free
visits for our pet brood, made curtains and web work for my
acupuncturist, personal yoga sessions for my accountant, etc.
