I only see my daughter 2 hours a day due to travel to and from work, plus work.  I dream of working from home, but don't have the type of job that lends itself to that.  How do you deal with only seeing your kid(s) a few hours a day?  I feel like I am missing so much and I am not there for her.

Thanks, Nataly. The grass is always greener on the other side.
I used to have a job where I saw my daughter less than an hour a day. It's really tough, I hear you. But the time I did spend with her I was totally focused on her and it was good quality time. On weekends I also didn't take time away from her and we had a great time together.

I know it's tempting to think that working from home is an easier option, but in my experience, not always. Working from home can often mean working non-stop and then you might be distracted with a work call when you want to be with your daughter.

I know it's not easy, but try not to feel guilty. You're doing what you have to for your family, your daughter is definitely benefiting from it, and the time you do spend with her is probably really great and focused on her.

Guilt in this instance is not useful. Think quality, not quantity.
