A day to myself -- not.

I was supposed to have a day to myself yesterday. My school was off, comp time for conferences, and my son had school.

He came home sick.

Instead of spending the day napping and reading books, I ended up taking his temperature and feeding him small bland snacks and taking him to the doctor.

And I feel rotten for feeling bad that I didn't get "my" day.

Happened to me 2 weeks in a row. you have every right to want that day back. Life happens. Still is happening (just checked, yup, still there). Maybe you can get a mini day off during the weekend? Playdates are a wonderful thing. Pedicures too. :)
Oh to be a mom, huh??? ; )
Don't feel rotten. I've been there -- exact same scenario, daughter was supposed to be in school and I took a day off -- and she came home sick. I felt so annoyed. And I felt like a bad mom. But we get so little time to ourselves, I think it's ok to be a little peeved.
