Aaaah--bliss!!

So, shhhh, every other Friday, my company has off.  This is a new policy, and I am *loving it*!!!  My husband can't remember which ones are my "off" Fridays, and I still have the nanny working those days.

So every other Friday, I get up at my usual 5:30, and am out the door by 6:45...  I head to Starbucks and work for a few hours just to avoid complete guilt.  Then it varies.  I've met friends for lunch.  I've shopped. I've gone to a spa for the afternoon.  I've gotten a pedicure... run errands, gone to the post office and gone to the dry cleaners--all the kinds of things that are so difficult when one works full time!

I don't go home until it is my regular time to get home.  This is probably really a crazy way to live, but I really need the time all to myself!!!  I admit that it can be difficult to fill the whole day sometimes, but it is just so worth it not to be responsible for anyone but myself for a day!!

Also, my husband is usually working nights on the weekends, which means he sleeps during the weekend days. My nanny is off on weekends, so I take care of the children by myself over the weekend.  I can't seem to get anything done--the girls are still really young--so having that one Friday to myself makes it all okay.  I can really connect with the children and be focused on them and not all the other things I need to be doing!

This off Friday has made a huge difference in my life!  I really recommend taking that "sick day" if you can!!!!

Wow. I love this policy. I have to recommend it to my company's HR department...! Congrats on your "me" time...even if it's only every other week. :)

Good for you! (And, I DO agree with keeping it on the DL ... if my husband knew which Fridays I had off, he'd have a list of to-do's a mile long!)
