OK-so we had that Executive Board meeting.
During the meeting, it was determined that
-we are not running our meetings appropriately
-there are too many personal vendettas at play in the organization
-it's NOT OK to show up at the bank and withdraw almost $4,000 with no other PTA officer present so you would not have to "deal" with the PTA Treasurer.
I also noticed the very phony smiles and friendliness due to the presence of a state level offical. This was in stark contrast to the yellling and screaming that had become part of the normal landscpe of our meetings...
The lack of understanding re/ how to handle public money was blatant and the determination to continue with business as usual was pretty clear as well.
What did it for me was:
-being approached with improperly accounted for money by the HUG at the end of that meeting.
-The fact that the state official said she would not be returning to attend the next meeting.
I took a few days to cool off and then I made notarized copies of all Treasury records and sent the originals via certified mail to the State PTA representative along with my letter of resignation. I then emailed the remaining PTA Officers to inform them that I had resigned.
Happy Happy Joy Joy!
