I care alot about the Presidential campaign this year. We are facing 2 crises in America right now. One here with the recession, soaring gas prices, the failing economy, the mortgage crisis, joblessness, and our flailing stock market, and the other over seas with the war in Iraq and our crumbling reputation in foreign politics.
We need a President with the ability to exercise excellent judgment in order to get us back on our feet again and restore the greatness of what makes America the home of the free.
There are so many domestic issues I care about most of which support legislation and initiatives to strengthen the American family, regulate our financial institutions, end the war in Iraq safely, and bring down oil prices.
But, we need someone in office who is not there to stroke their ego for power, prestige, or seek revenge against (so-called) ring wing conspirators. We also don't need someone in office who is looking to extend their badge of glory or extend delusions of grandeur initiated by our current President by staying in Iraq just to say "we won" which is against the will of Americans who know we can't indefinitely sustain that mission from an economic standpoint without completely handicapping our own economy.
I care about so many things, but most of all I care about the political process right now that will directly affect the social direction of the future if the right person gets elected. But I'm concerned about the collective voice of the American people who say they want change, but won't really stand up for the changes they say they want by electing a "new" Presidential candidate who has already shown how to use excellent judgment in the face of adversity (but just doesn't come in the regular packaging Americans are used to seeing in their President...)
