100 Year Difference

I'm in the midst of closing up shop for a few days (always stressful) and packing (always stressful) for a trip to Arkansas (always delightful).  We are off to celebrate the birthdays of my youngest and of my husbands grandmother.  Baby is turning 2 and Great Grammie is turning 102!  It will be slightly early for both but neither will mind celebrating.

I just got off the phone with Grammie, filling her in on our arrival and what time we'd see her.  She's so excited and can't wait to hold us all.  Can you imagine?  It makes me tear up just thinking about being in that woman's arms and sharing my girls with her.

I'm looking forward to being away from our house for a few days.  When we return we'll be getting it ship shape to put it on the market.  I'm trying hard not to stress about what to pack away for who-knows-how-long and about the house being 'just right' for prospective buyers.  This get away with just the four of us will be a much needed respite.  I'm also hoping that it's a mental break enough to get me back on track with other things, like WIM!  I haven't been around here as much and I'm certainly missing it.  How exciting that WIM just turned one!  Guess it's Happy Birthday all around.

Thanks, Ladies. I'll be sure to take way too many photos. We usually take one good one and have it printed and framed before we leave so Grammie can have it until the next time.
Happy Birthday to the "bookends"! What a lovely, positive story. Have a great time! - Paula.

102 , lucid, able to make/take phone calls, and well enough for a party? She's doing really well. If you call her Great-Grammie, does that make her your daughters' Great-Great? Nataly's right: pictures! Lots of pictures! Because you are so lucky, and you'll want to remember these days.
Wow, that's awesome -- bring some pictures back and have a GREAT time.

Hi Mandy, I was just thinking to myself that it had been much too long since I had read an update from you. Hope you have a wonderful trip! Happy birthday to Baby and Great Grammie. Sounds like you'll be in my neck of the woods...sorta.
