A typical workday

I'm on time off for medical reason right now, but here is a summary of a typical workday:

6:30- get up make sure 15 yo is ready for school,go downstairs, tripping on the cat all the way, take meds, make coffee, watch her get on the bus.  Feed the cat.

7:00-make sure 18 yo is getting up, check what's going on in her day,is she working, can she be there for the youngest one afterschool,ect...

7:30-hubby gets up, and I can finally have my coffee cause the hour wait is over.(translation- I will finally have a pulse,be able to open my eyes, and function like a normal human being)  Do dishes, laundry, check the little ones back pack (hopefully nothing special needed for the day at school), look in the freezer and pantry to see what might magically appear for dinner.

8:00-wake up the youngest kid, on a good day she takes care of herself and I just suppervise, on a bad day getting her to do each task is like pulling teeth.  Meanwhile I try like heck to get ready for work, make her lunch, check e-mails.

8:40-hubbys gone by now, let the neighbor girl in who gets on the bus here, chase the cat who always slips out of the house.

9:00-everyones gone, I take a couple of minutes to finish getting ready, and Hi- Ho off to work I go

9:15 (give or take  30 minutes)- clock in, grab my pile of charts and get to work

Sometime late afternoon-realize I never had lunch, go check out what the drug reps brought today and take something to eat over my charts at my desk

3:00-suddenly realize I havent been to the ladies room all day and make a run for it.

3:30-suddenly remember I have kids, call them to check on them and make sure someone will be home for the little one

4:00/5:00/or 6:00- finally decide whatever charts are left can be put off till the next day, run home, grab kids, and head for whatever activity we are running late for.

sometime in the evening-talk to hubby to see how his day was, who he needs to be taking where or  ask him "what sounds good for dinner" (translation- honey pick something up 'cause I didnt have time to cook again)

Any where from 9:00-11:30- finally arrive home, check on everyone who wasnt with me, shower & fall into bed wondering if I have any clean clothes to wear to work the next morning

Girl, you sound just like most of us. Especially me before I stopped going to work and became a SAHM.

Unfortunately, now that I'm home people seemed to think I have more time to myself, but not when you have 2 little ones still at home with you. There's always something to do and I know you know about laundry with 5 kids. Thank God for the older ones who can take care of themselves pretty much.

But, honestly, you need to slow down somehow, somewhere, you need a little more mommy (ME) time!

You're one heck of a woman...you go girl!
