A breath of fresh air

From the moment I opened my eyes this morning my mind was already racing a hundred miles a minute.

I went over my agenda for the day...  O.K, make lunches,  feed kids breakfast, get 3 kids dressed, drop off for pre-school field trip...all went accroding top plans except when it was time to drop my oldest of for her field trip to the fire hall. She wanted me to stay. I hadn't prepared the other 2 kids to stay, but thought what the heck. So I ended up tagging along on the field trip with my 5 yr old and her siblings, 3yr old sister and 8 month old brother. It poured with rain and I mean POURED! There we were standing out in the bucketing rain looking at the fire trucks and spraying the fire hose. I felt wet and uncomfotable, but when I stopped and looked around at the faces of the kids I saw something else. I didn't see sad or grouchy little faces! i saw huge smiles and amazement in their eyes. I saw kids having fun jumping in puddles and having turns wearing fire gear. When i took the time to put my own discomfort aside and take a look around me I saw a whole other world! One that was care free and fun.

I find that so often I get caught up the the day and before i know it, it's dinner, bath and bed time. Where does the day go? I just wanted to share my day with all of you who are probably just like me and miss a lot of the child like views that are always there but we don't take the time to appreciate!

I love when my daughter notices little things or stops to check out a small insect or a flower -- kids are great at stopping to smell the flowers:)
