Well, it took a while, but I finally missed historic preservation planning. When I joined this site a year ago, I was really burnt out with private consulting. I had worked in the senior level jobs for about 12 years for different firms, and was spending a lot of time doing projects that made the firms money, but did not really bring me a lot of satistfaction. So, I had to turn away for it for a while. I used my skills volunteering, and developed a wellness business instead.
Volunteering has definately changed my perspective of what I thought was important about my field, and how I could add value to communities though working in the field. So instead of getting another consulting job, it seems to make more sense to become a consultant with a small business, or something like that. I have high aspirations, I have partnered with a graphics designer with some skill, and I've been promoting historic preservation in my area.
I still like the wellness business and the products, so I do both, but on a smaller scale while I get my historic preservation and planning consulting business going.
My soul is happy. Wish me success. Visit my website and give me your thoughts on what you see. www.hudsonvalleyplanning.com
