Summer Fun with the Kids

As my children get older, now ages 16 and 12, it becomes harder to spend hours each day with them.  They are off with their friends or on the computer with Face Book and My Space.  With all this going on, we still find time to hang out together.  Spending time by the pool has become a summertime favorite for the entire family.  We are members of a local neighborhood pool and we get to go 2-3 times a week.  This always turns into a great time for eveyone.   On other days, we spend time playing board games.  Our favorite this summer has been Scrabble for my oldest daughter.  My younger daughter and I have been playing Hangman and Battleship.   Her favorite and my least favorite is Life. She loves the money part.  I am hoping that she will be good with finances.    Other summer fun includes playing yard games, including basketball and heading to the tennis courts.   I have decided that summer is way to short and school will be starting before we are ready.    As summer winds down, we will be heading to Cinn. Ohio for a baseball game.  This trip will also be celebrating my husband's 50th birthday.  Opps, I guess I just told my age here.
