Coping with CONTROL

On those personality tests (you know you're either an S, E, L, or F), I fall into the category of the Director (or E personailty).  Basically means I like information in bullets, not soliloquies...I'm a planner... and I like to be in CONTROL.  Which explains why I sometimes do not cope well with this "transition" period, if you will, in my life right now.  Husband has a good talking game, but his action game could use a little coaching.  But for the last 3 years or so I've allowed myself to believe the talk instead of the actions.  In other words, dh can tell me all day how much he's committed to working through our issues, however, his actions say otherwise.  Well in the past few days I've taken CONTROL.  I've given him a bit of his own medicine if you will.  For example, I haven't been at all available the way I normally am.  Consequently, my phone has been ringing off the hook for two days.  Never mind when he wouldn't pick up my calls for days on end or call the children.  I blabbering a bit.  (You may have to read a few back posts to get some clarity on where I'm going.)  However, I just want to say it feels good to be in CONTROL if only for a few days, if only something as small as this.  Today, I had CONTROL of my feelings.  It's been a long time And you know what, it feels really good.
