Okay, I have had the most hectic three days ever, with the excpetion of the good news from my sons doctor on a major issue that we thought he had but doesn't - long story.
Day 1 - Had to show properties to a buyer after they got out of work. Had to take my son with me because there is no one to watch him. The only reason we went out at this time instead of the weekend like we usually do was because we had lost two homes already because of waiting to show them on the weekend and they need a house now and I want to make money, dammit! So I drove my son and me out far as can be to show these nice houses. We go to leave the first house and my car won't start. My nice customers gave me a jump (I had been working with them long enough that it wasn't a total embarassment, thank God). They ask if I just want to go home and I say no because it seems fine now and I already drove 20 miles, we might as well finish. We see one more house, they had to jump me again. Then as I drive my car starts bucking. They told me that we should wait because I have my son and that I should just get home to find out what is wrong, they didn't want me to break down. Well, I got about half way home before my car decided to completely die in the middle lane of a busy, busy street with my kid. My flashers weren't working, nothing in my car was working. Luckily I had AAA so both they and my husband came to the rescue before anyone hit us. However, still we didn't get home for another 3 hours all the while with my son who had not eaten and should have been in bed.
Day 2 - We get up, take him to preschool while we go to the mechanics where my car was towed. It's the alternator and can be fixed right away, which is great because my son has an appointment with a specialist whose office is also very, very far away. However, his appointment is somewhat near another house I was supposed to show these guys. So I rush to pick up my car at two. Rush home to take out the dogs. Rush to pick up Ocean. Rush to the specialist, which I get lost and then the elevator doesnt work and i have a stroller and a bunch of crap in it. I was already 20 minutes late and I was their last appointment of the day so I am praying that they still see me as I've been waiting for a month. Finally we get up there and that part was the best part of the past few days because Ocean is perfectly fine. So I rush to feed him and get to the property. Then rush to the next property. I actually got excited after the last property because they want to put in an offer. Yea! But at this point, I am again not getting home until crazy late and Ocean fell asleep in the car.
Day 3 - Have to reshoot one scene for a mock PSA that I shot a month ago. It pays. Yippee. However, I have to rush Ocean to school so that I can run to work really quickly and send off the offer i got the night before. So, I am out the door at 7:30, baby in tow and I have to be on set by 9am. Drop him at school, run ot the office, get everything set up for faxing by 8:15am before I have to rush to my shoot that's another 20 miles away, this time by downtown Miami so I am not looking forward to the drive from Aventura. When I arrive, the shoot is supposed to take one hour. The crew packed everything except the camera!!! WTF?? So they have to drive back to South Beach to get it and I end up being there for three hours waiting when I have other work to do. Finish shooting. Run back to my office. When I get back I have found that the seller that I presented the offer to has countered with only $2000 off of the list price?!?! It is a seller who is pretty much representing herself. However, she moved to Chicago, has an empty house and has had it on the market forever, it seems hardly the house to counter with only $2000 off - especially in this market when I have very qualified buyers. Most sellers that are not completely desperate are dropping $20-$40K off of the price. My buyer came up $22,000 but the seller refused to budge. So all of that driving for nothing!!! The house was not worth what she was asking for many reasons and I could have gotten my buyer up some more but not up to what they wanted. It wouldn't have even appraised. I also had another deal that I was waiting to hear from. I had a renter sign a lease on a rental that the guy I work with had listed for either rent or sale. He told me that the owner would sign my guy's lease the night before and I would get paid. Well, the owner had a sales contract come through while I was gone and signed it!! So I lost two deals in one day. My renter is desperate as there are no homes in the area he wants with garages and he must have a garage. This was the only one. He had also already given notice to his current landlord because I was told that he had the place. So, again, more gas and driving that I wasted for nothing.
Sorry for the long rant, I doubt that anyone will read it but I had to rant. I have been running myself ragged and still have no money to show for it. I have been trying to focus on the fact that my son is completely healthy after all this time and that I had the reshoot which paid me decently, even with the extra time I spent there. But it's hard to focus on it when I feel exhausted from all of the rushing that I have been doing. We are taking a vacation in two weeks and I can hardly wait!!!!!!!!
