I am one of the millions of women in the world who are balancing career and motherhood, marriage and friendships, hobbies and responsibilities...
Sometimes it seems like a slippery slope...until I am kissing my kids goodnight and they're smiling, at rest, at peace...then it all comes right back into focus.
I have a great husband - my best friend and partner in life
My interests:
I love to paint. I love to sketch...art in general soothes my soul. I also enjoy devouring a good book when I can steal the time to do so.
How I de-stress:
I have this huge, amazing claw-foot tub that I never use. I shower often. And as I stand in the shower I imagine what it might be like to soak in that tub for a good long time - a bottle of wine and a good book handy. Someday! :)
For now I take an occassional bikram yoga class. As soon as I find some time to fit it in I make a point of going. It's VERY relaxing.
Best advice I've gotten:
Quad Espresso in a Tall cup.
An adjective to describe me:
SmartAss
My favorite book:
Fun Home
My favorite movie:
Amalie
Family
Number of children:
3
Age of children:
5, 8, 8
Relationship status:
Married
Parenting advice I follow:
Laugh and play often...
It won't be long before you're chasing them around, begging for a little bit of their time and their attention.
Also...
Never forget that children are their own individual souls...we are simply their guides in this world. Set boundaries, but let them be who they are. Watching them blossom into the people they are meant to be...Nothing is more beautiful.
Parenting advice I ignore:
"You can't spoil a baby!"
Oh really? I beg to differ.
Favorite activity with my kids:
Taking them to the beach with a tote full of toys for digging and books for reading. Something about the beach seems to free a little part of their souls. When they get just far enough away, down the beach, and they think no one is watching, they shed some invisible cloak and become divinely THEMSELVES...it's amazing.
Work
Work status:
Work full-time
Industry:
Finance
Position:
Realty Investment
Hours worked per week:
40+
How much I like my job:
Job stress level:
Pretty stressful
Best thing about my job:
The benefits & pay are very decent and there is some flexibility - so when Mom duties are calling I can usually sneak away.
Worst thing about my job:
I don't really feel like I'm making an impact on anything/anyone...Not really using any of my talents.
Get out of this office and go back to school.
Start my own business.
Costa Rica.
Greece.
Portugal.
Florence.
Tuscany.
White beach, Blue Water, Hammock.
Empty nest - Happy, successful grown children.
Goals I am working on:
Saving for school.
Saving for a family vacation.
Manifesting one date night a week with my wonderful sexy husband.
Being content with one date night a month.
What a pickle!
I'm sorry things have gotten so stressful and uncertain for you. I am willing to bet that when you started this relationship and decided...
I just had a date with my husband last week...and it went really well. We had dinner at a nice-ish restaurant...nothing that was an arm & a leg pricewise...Then...
