My full-time position is medical editor, but with having to get up every morning at 3:30 and go all day until 10:00 at night, I am burned out of the whole thing!! My passion is jewelry design for children. I just started my company, Sassibella, and am hoping to turn this into a full-time venture. My 10-year-old daughter acts as my sounding board, as she has her finger on the pulse of all that is hip and cool! I absolutely love this gig. Now, if I could only get some customers...;)
My interests:
I love books, when I have time. My new love is my iPod. It helps me get through the monotonous chores.
Soak in my tub with candles and deliciously-scented bath salts and lotions, followed by a good back rub. AAAHHH!
An adjective to describe me:
Energetic
My favorite movie:
Something About Mary
Family
Number of children:
3
Age of children:
10, 6, 2
Relationship status:
Married
Parenting advice I follow:
I try to have a nice balance of being a friend and a parent. So far it has been working well. My children communicate very openly with my, but they still listen when I bark out orders! ;)
Favorite activity with my kids:
Take them to the park and let them run like a pack of wild dogs. They have so much energy!!
Work
Work status:
Run my own business
Industry:
Apparel & Fashion
Name of business:
Sassibella, LLC
Hours worked per week:
40+
How much I like my job:
I like it
Job stress level:
Not very stressful
Best thing about my job:
I actually have two jobs - my medical editing job, at which I am completely fried, and my new gig of children's jewelry designer with my new company, Sassibella.
Worst thing about my job:
Worst thing with medical editing is total burnout. I start work at 3:30 a.m., do homeschooling, take care of my three children, all on top of trying to get my Sassibella company off the ground. It's a lot to cram into a day!!
My dream job:
To be able to ditch the medical editing gig and do Sassibella full time would be a dream come true.
