Lorna Doone Brewer is a freelance writer, a co-founder and COO of the Berry-Brewer Agency, and a blog addict. She lives in the beautiful Pacific Northwest and is expecting her first child in January of 2008.
My interests:
I love to read and to write, although, both seem to be pretty work-specific these days. My other interests tend to revolve around crafts: scrapbooking, quilting, knitting, embroidery, beading, paper making . . . you get the idea.
Getting lost in a book is the best distraction on earth.
Best advice I've gotten:
Maybe I'll receive that piece of advice from someone here.
An adjective to describe me:
curious
My favorite book:
Lamb by Christopher Moore
My favorite movie:
I don't think I could narrow it down to one.
Family
Number of children:
1
Age of children:
Due Jan. 23, 2008!
Relationship status:
Married
Parenting advice I follow:
I'm not entirely sure yet, as all that "advice" about morning sickness didn't seem too helpful. ;-) I guess I'll learn as I go.
Parenting advice I ignore:
I'll have to update this one after the baby is born.
Favorite activity with my kids:
Right now, my favorite is to "chase" her around my belly. She'll kick or punch, and by the time I get my hand there to try and feel the movement, she's decided to kick or punch somewhere else.
Work
Work status:
Run my own business
Industry:
Writing & Editing
Name of business:
The Berry-Brewer Agency
Hours worked per week:
20-40
How much I like my job:
I love it!
Job stress level:
Pretty stressful
Best thing about my job:
Because my business partner and I run our own company, I get such joy out of reaching the goals we set for it. The sense of satisfaction can't be beat.
In addition, it will afford me the opportunity to stay home with my daughter when she makes her grand entrance next January.
Worst thing about my job:
It's easier to stay motivated when someone else is giving you the deadlines. Being in charge of your own destiny is a lot of work!
My dream job:
My ultimate dream job would probably include being a successful novelist, although what I'm doing isn't too bad, either . . .
