I am 5 years into my single mom life. Yes that's right. I was never married to or lived with my daughter's dad. I pretty much raise my kids alone, with some help from my older brother (babysitting). My ex-husband disappeared shortly after the divorce and calls once a year to disrupt, but not enter our lives. My daughter sees her dad about two or three times a month. Other than my kid chaos, I attend classes at UNT, bartend and manage my parents business, while looking for a job that will be more accommodating to this crazy life I have learned to love so much.
My interests:
I love Victorian literature, poetry, murder mysteries. That would encompass my me time. Reading and writing. More than that I love hanging with my kids. Beyond that, I really can't fit much into my life these days.
How I de-stress:
Open a good book after the kids go to bed.
Best advice I've gotten:
No matter your stress level, answer questions, and always be honest.

Parenting advice I follow:

Parenting advice I ignore:
"They are not old enough for that." Heard A LOT when my kids were 6 monthes to a year old and ate off the table. They are perfectly healthy!!!!
Favorite activity with my kids:
The park. My kids love it! If I have homework I can bring it and they don't mind that I am working. It works all the way around.
