You mentioned Dave Eggers. I have never read his books, but I just bought his "What is the What" for my dad's Xmas present. It looks terrific. I couldn't put it down when I was in the book store. Oh, that reminds me: we have a book club here called "The Most Excellent Work It, Mom! Book Club." Maybe you'd like to join.
