Follow your instincts. I wasn't sure I'd even have mothering instincts, but so far so good and I feel comfortable with it.
Parenting advice I ignore:
Cry it out!! I have not had the desire or will to use the cry it out method for Jack's sleeping habits. He still wakes up a few times at night but I don't mind having the opportunity to see him when it's quiet.
Favorite activity with my kids:
Hiking, especially in Torrey Pines park down to the ocean (in San Diego).
