  • I love the holidays! People are nicer. The air is crisp and clean. I love to get the house ready. I decorate minature Christmas trees and give them to people who have no money or a family member that has passed and I sell a good many. I love to cook & bake for the family which ends up about 24 and we have such a awsome time together..My mom and I bake cakes and deliver them to the dialysis center that she attends and we give them to the ones that ask for them or no money for food......I have a 10 yr old and I take great pleasure in seeing him still enjoy childhood. My daughter is 23 w/2 children and the babies will be so much fun this year.

  • I always look forward to the holidays. Now that I am in divorce mode I am more than looking forward to the holidays. Husbands come and go, but Thanksgiving and Christmas are forever! For the last 10 years or so, I have catered the holidays--this year I am cooking and I am happy to do it.

  • I'm excited about the holidays all the way up until a couple days before. Then I feel like there is too much to do, and too little time. It never fails that I'm excited and then I realize that I need to buy such and such presents, go to 3 different grocery stores, cook, take the car in before we travel...etc. etc. etc.

  • Depends on whose relatives are coming to stay. :) If guests are coming, even my parents, I still feel like I have to make everything perfect - clutter-free, comfortable, etc. - despite everything else on my plate. And of course whatever I clean gets immediately re-cluttered and destroyed by my rather messy husband and 2 little ones. Stressful. But it is wonderful to watch your kids embrace holiday traditions you loved yourself as a child and share the wonder of a huge turkey or pretty tree or that ugly ornament they find oh-so-beautiful. It nurtures some part of my soul that I thought was burned out by years of corporate practice and grew back only when I had children. I can't wait to hear my 4 year old try to explain Christmas to her baby sister.
