We take a picture of the kids, and include a short note and the current ages of the children. This helps us keep in touch with old friends that we do not see often and helps them, and family members keep up with the kids. It also lets people know that you care, and still consider them friends.

I used to send cards, but since the list got smaller every year - why am I ONLY in touch with these people at the holidays? - it's tapered off to just a few. If we get a card, we'll send one in return, though! :-) I'll write a personal note, but no pictures.

Since the kids were born we send the photo cards of the kids only and being in the graphics business I try to do something creative with it. Last year was a really neat collage of the kids playing with the Christmas lights, in the dark, came out so good I could not wait to send it out! I did it in October. I am normally really bad with cards, but I do get into sending the Christmas cards when they look really neat.

We do photo cards from ofoto. It's a pain and takes a long time, but I like doing it - we don't stay in touch with people as well as we should and this is a nice way to do it around the holidays. (Of course, some people end up getting the cards after New Year's:)
I spend more time than I should on cards. I used to hand make them (I'm all for artsy fartsy) but last year I found a printer to handle my needs which is great since we send out close to 200. They have a 250 minimum order though so if you want to send me a SASE...(teehee). Why do I send out so many? We have a large extended family and I have also had the pleasure of becoming friends with many of my clients. It's just a way to spread some cheer and tell those whom I don't see but at funerals and whatnot, what we're up to.

every year i stress over this and start out with elaborate plans to like, MAKE cards... then i decide no, just doing the picture card thing, then i usually end up just saying 'oops nevermind' LOL

I'm swimming against the tide here. With the exception of last Xmas when my daughter was a newborn, I don't include family pics with my Xmas cards. I like the old-fashioned way: just a simple card with a note of good wishes. I have cut down on how many I send out each year. The cost of stamps really adds up!!

We do send cards. Generally I get picture cards featuring the kids. Close family members may also get a wallet size picture. But that is it. No personalization at all. Just whatever we have printed on the card. I have all my address in a spreadsheet. I'll take a quick look through to make sure all looks correct and then print address labels.
Yep, we send cards - it's a good way to stay in touch with people that either don't have e-mail or we aren't in regular contact with during the rest of the year. I include a letter updating everyone on our year (send to those people we don't see regularly) and a photo of the kids (we make color photocopies so it's much cheaper to get a large amount of them).

I send cards. If it is to my relatives faraway I will put Zachs school pic in it. But I do love sending the cards. I send cards to all of my customers as well.
