What tips do you ladies have for saying within a set family budget? I have calculated how much is alloted for each category, but what is the best way to go about following through and making sure I don't get off track. I have a lot of debt that I need to pay off and I just relocated to recieve a much better salary (my husband, not me). We have lots of money now and I feel overwhelmed and scared that I will go over the buget I set for us.

i would say just stick with the budget you have and funnel all 'extra' money toward that debt starting with the highest interest rate first. once you have the debt paid off, i would split the 'extra' money and put 3/4 into savings and 1/4 into 'fun' stuff - you need to give yourself a little reward :)

now if i can only follow my own advice! i have a hard time telling hubby 'no' so we end up spending on stupid stuff like eating out too much or buying things at the grocery we just end up tossing out... :(
