Do you buy expensive skin creams or just use the drugstore kind? Is the expensive stuff worth it?”

  • My friends husband is a dermatologist and he doesn't really go for the expensive creams. Only a select few are really great. When I was working I would splurge on Kheils. No my kids are the only ones with Kheils product. I use the baby lip balm on them in the winter and summer. It's amazing and glides on like a charm and fixes their chapped lips almost instantly.

I use Dove and Aveeno lotion.

  • I make (and sell) my own. I know what's in it and what my skin responds to....

  • oil of olay and nutregena (sp??) are expensive enough for me! plus the pricy stuff i have tried at various times just seemed to make my sensitive skin very angry... i dont like my skin to be angry so i stick with the 'skin approved' stuff :) plus they all come in 'sensitive skin' versions which help!

  • I don't use anything expensive. I clean my face with St. Ives Apricot Cleanser, it removes make-up and exfoliates (something my skin NEEDS every day), but doesn't dry. I moisturize with Olay Total Effects, it's great. Now that I've hit the big 4-0, I find that I need more moisture, and this is just right.

  • I used to be a big Clinique fan, and then my skin got ridiculously ultra-sensitive, all of a sudden. And then (and then?) I had kids, and paying a lot for cosmetics and skin care was just not in the budget. In a happy accident, I found that Cetaphil lotion works wonders on my very dry skin and is great because it doesn't trigger any rashes for me. Plus, I can get it pretty much everywhere.I use the really rich cream as a night cream and the lighter body lotion as a face cream. And I can get a 2-year supply for both of those thigns for as much as I was paying for a 2 month supply of my Clinique products...
