Did you ever use a nanny camera? What do you think about it? Which camera would you recommend?

Here is what my good friend, Jeff, suggested I consider. These are not cheap solutions. I haven't had any luck finding something more reasonable:

Here's a link to a complete 4 camera system that includes a "quad" which allows you to watch all four cameras simultaneously (splits your screen into 4 regions, 1 for each camera). Also, this system allows you to watch the security video stream from anywhere.

However, one question I have is that most DSL and cable broadband systems use dynamically assigned IP addresses and this one seems to require a static IP.

Also, I found this interesting offering from AT&T... it may be worth a call to them for more information:

I think nanny cams are important - I'm in the process of investigating what type of camera/system I would like to get...I am going back to work in 2 months and have an AuPair coming to take care of my daughter - do you have any suggestions on good products or even how to get started?

I just read an article in my local newspaper. A couple hired a nanny who came highly recommended and had previously worked for an agency. They got a nanny-cam as a gift, and found that their 5mo girl was being neglected and worse. The nanny now has a $12,00 bond and is going to trial next month. I absolutely agree with nanny-cams. you totally have the right to know what goes on when you're not there.
I am all for it! Absolutely.
I have never used a nanny cam but I think that you have a right as a parent to use one if you feel it is necessary or will give you peace of mind. I do think though that if you are diligent enough to actually get one, then mothers intuition is probably on the money.
