For the teachers out there - Does the world of teaching allow more flexibility for parents with children than the corporate world? I am currently working from home, substitute teaching, and my husband & I farm as an occupation. We have thee school age children, and I am looking into going back to school to get teaching certification in my degree area of FCS. It has been wonderful to be home with the kids and work part-time, but am now finding more time on my hands where I could be working outside the home and earning more. My dilemna is the kids schedules and my responsibility to them. Any advice is welcome. It seems like a big step, I want to make the right choice for myself and my family. ”

You would be going to school to complete certification when your kids are in school and when you're finished you'd be teaching at the same time they're in school, no? You would still be free after 3pm (98% of the time) to be a part of their extra-curricular activities. And, you'd have weekends and summer's off.
I say again, Aye!
