Do you feel pressure to cook dinner for your family?”

  • Heck no...let the little brats eat leaves and sticks if they are hungry! LOL..I kept my family home the day they had hot meals for dinner training. In general, my boys are well nourished and healthy, so between dh and I we are doing something right...but.not always! I do feel pressure to ensure they have healthy choices for grazing on..but I don't feel pressure to do the hot dinner every night thing. That went out the window a long, long time ago (I think with my princess phone..). They may get a cheese stick, sliced apples and pb, and/or things to dip in applesauce or yogurt instead of a roast, but they're full and happy.

  • I would love to be able to cook dinner every night, but from the time the first child was born I would try to cook a meal and inevitably the distractions would start and my husband would end up finishing what I started. It's a running joke that I'm the Tom Sawyer of the kitchen. My husband is the better chef, so I am lucky that he doesn't mind. Yes, my friends like to throw things at me when I say this, too, Jenorama!

  • Dinner is the subject of so many arguments between my husband and I it astounds me! From the first day I met my husband, I told him I am could do my best to be all to him and the children we have, but do not ask me to cook dinner (all other meals are fine) and clean the house. I know we should have a weekly dinner schedule, grocery list, etc...but to be honest I hate dinner now that it is such a hot topic in our house. With ll this said, my husband cooks every night and I smile while eating!

  • I cook for myself and our daughter. We eat around 19:00. My husband comes home at about 20:30. He likes to have a big salad for dinner and just adds whatever bits are left over from my earlier cooking. I get so tired of cooking. I'd be happy eating a PB san every day. Daughter is learning to cook some things. Hopefully soon she can cook some nights. My husband cooks on Sunday evenings.

  • NOPE. Which is why, now the kids are teens, we have a schedule: Monday and Wednesday, I cook. Tues and Thurs are "fend-for-yourself" nights, with a list of healthy possibilities taped to the fridge. Alternate weekends, when his kids are here, my husband does all (ALL!!) the cooking.

  • I do for the simple fact that my mother is on a renial diet and I have to cook no matter what so a simple soup and sanwich doesn't get it.

  • I definitely do, so I keep it as simplified as I possibly can and try to plan the menu for the week & do the shopping during the weekend.

  • No, I don't. But here is my dirty little secret: My husband loves to cook and cooks nearly every supper we have. Please don't throw things at your computer screen-- it hurts you more than it hurts me. :)
