Where is your happy place? You know, when the kids finally go to sleep and you're done running around for the day and you just plop down on the couch (or floor in my case) and just want to scream just to get all those frustrations out. Where do you go? When I can't take it anymore I sit down on the floor and meditate. I don't cross my legs and say "Oouumm." but I close my eyes and forget. I become a woman without a job, a baby, or any problems. I become a free woman and just feel the weight off of me. I think about just being. I go to a place of mind to where no one and nothing can bother me. It's a quick fix at your own time to relieve some of the pressures of life. ”

  • Ususally it's after the kids go to bed and I can plop on the couch and veg out! No time for meditation. I usually conk out on the sofa, pick myself up and go to bed around 1:30am. Get back up and do it all over again.
I can also find peace from my littlest ones during nap time. Ahhhhhhh! The sound of silence usually does it for me.

  • Funny ... because my "refuge from the storm" is my family. My craziness all stems from work and so in my most stressful moments, I think about the end of the day and how I'll see my hubby and son and husky in a few short hours. After the little boy goes to sleep, I have an hour or two to work on projects and then fall asleep.

  • I go for a long walk, either listening to NPR or some music or nothing at all, just walking. If it's really been a frustrating day a spin class is a really good cure.

  • I lie down on my bed, close my eyes and imagine myself in a movie. :) Silly, but it works.

  • I go to my room, and make the bed so I can pretend the rest of the house is neat and tidy too, and then I read a book and forget everything but the characters on the page.
