What mementoes have you saved from your child's (or children's) birth and/or newborn days? (e.g. hospital bracelet, cards, etc.) Are you saving them primarily for yourself or for your child?

We saved everything- but the most special momento I have is a DVD that my sister, bro in law and 4 girls made for us. They took the video footage and made a movie, complete with songs ranging from Jimmy Buffet to Kermit the Frog to Irish lullibyes. It is so beautiful and so special to me.

We have their hospital bracelets, crib tags, photos from the NICU, and the preemie sized diaper that can barely hold a cell phone! We are saving some outfits etc. It's primarily for them.

I also have a commonplace book that I keep now and I drop in things that are flat (I voted sticker, a map from a zoo etc) and write a little bit about whatever for them.

I kept their bracelet and hat and coming home outfit. All their pictures and cards and shower balloons are in their baby books. They each have what we call their "Special box" which is really just a rubbermaid tote, and we keep anything that we have special memories about. Their outfit from their first day at school (day care), M's lei from our trip to Hawaii, a pretty dress that A wore so much, she wore off some of the polka dots. Things like that to give them when they grow up.
I have umbilical cords, bracelets, the little card that let me get into the hospital to see my first baby when he needed surgery, locks of hair and their footprints. Unfortunately, all their newborn clothes got moldy in the last rainy season, but I guess we didn´t need to keep them anyway. :)

I have saved his coming-home outfit, the bassinet card/bracelets from the hospital, a blankie, a hat, ultrasound pix, cards received and notices that were printed - in newspapers or church bullitans.
I have 4 and I saved bracelets, bassinet cards, cards from family and friends, hair locks for my daughter, hats, banners from showers, spoons, clothes, even umbilical cords (I know, yuck) But I love it b/c it's the last symbol of our biological connection before they entered the world to breathe and function on their own without needing my life line.

I save everything!
The lil' hat, blankey, and bracelet are in a shadow box with a few newborn pics and ultrasound pic in each kids room.
I saved the shoes, TONS of clothes and more! I love keepsakes!
Which is where I got the idea for my side biz.
Check out my profile, I think it is on there.

We have saved quite a few things for each child -- hospital bracelet, bassinet card, cards from family & friends, newspaper on that day, the little hat they get from the hospital, coming home outfit & blankie, a newborn diaper/premie diaper (clean ones :-).
Right now the things are more for me....I love to look thru them every now and then and think about their births. Later, when they are older, I would love to show it to them and tell them the stories around their births!
We've saved a few things like the hospital bracelet, the bassinet card, and a couple other things. I think it will be cool to give her that stuff when she is an adult.
