about 2-3 hours/day
I just answered Genesis' question about this subject and it's funny she didn't get anymore answers than mine ( I think Zephra was onto something, lol) No one wants to admit this. :(

But honestly, I admit my kids probably watch too much TV too if you asked some high sidity professionals. Mine watch about 2 (or more) hrs of TV/day. They ususally prefer Discover Kids, Disney, PBS Kids or one of their own movies. My little one loved Baby Einstein so we kept a collection of them for him.

But, in my own defense ;) the TV goes off after lunch and doesn't go back on until the evening when I watch the news. It goes back off again when we eat dinner and may not go back on until the kids go to bed. We're more computer people in my house. Everyone has their own computer and can usually be found on theirs at any given time in the evening. We always make sure whatever they're doing or watching it's educationally based.
I have to say, probably too much. Im not sure how I feel about the television. Realistically, it entertains her and lets me do things around the house. When she wakes up at 5 am, mommy is not ready to play, so putting her in her swing in front of the tv is what happens. Most of the shows she watches I think are ok. She loves the Wiggles and even if I put in the dvd, that will entertain her for 45 minutes. I sometimes let her watch baby einstein in different languages, mostly French. The truth is that my husband and I love television for everything it offers, from discovery channel, to foreign language channels to sports to prime time. To keep my daughter away from tv is just unrealistic for us.

We all watched far too much TV this winter when we were cooped up, but now that the weather is nice that number is way down.
It's on in the morning while we get ready, but they're busy getting dressed, brushing teeth and all that. M watches for about and 1-1 1/2 hours at night, but last night we didn't come inside until 7:30. A only likes to watch Scooby Doo, and that's really all she'll watch.
Last night M explained to me that using a lot of electricity is not keeping the earth healthy, so we should turn off the TV. Yay!!
My kids don't watch that much TV. With all of their activities, we just don't seem to have that much time to sit down and watch TV. Especially now that the weather is nice, they spend quite a bit of time outside. The TV wasn't even turned on at all yesterday.

My son watches TV in the morning when we get ready for school - the last 10 minutes of JoJo and the first 15 minutes of Wiggles. Then off to school! I pick him up around 5:30, get home and he watches some Scooby Doo while we make and eat dinner. Nights are hit and miss - sometimes we have activities, sometimes I am too tired to play and we pop in a movie. We start his bath and nighttime routine between 7:30 and 8. On weekends, he certainly watches too much! Although he doesn't have quite the patience to sit there, but the TV is on even if we go into another room to play.
Way more than I think they should! During the warmer months and good weather only about 2-3 hours a day. When it's yucky out it's closer to 4-5 :( That being said, it's not stationary TV watching, they're usually dancing, jumping, running upstairs to play, at least that's what I tell myself to make myself feel a little less guilty. The youngest starts preschool this fall so that will help reduce her TV time a little and we're hoping to get them involved in some other activities outside the house too.

My kids love TV ( shocker right)
They watch it for 1 hr in the AM, but they dont really sit and watch, they play and run, and occasionally stop to check it out. Then they watch 2 hrs each night. So 3 hrs a day.
At night they actually SIT and watch. We pop on a DVD for them at 8p so they sit and watch for an hour before they fall asleep. Some Disney movie usually, Toy Story, Bugs Life, Shrek, Bee Movie.
The occasionaly Baby Einstein is still in the mix, even though they are 2 & 4.
We just got THE SMURFS, which is a big hit, all the old episodes. too funny!

ahha Zephra! *phew* my son watches about an 1- 1.5 hours a night during the week and then on weekends around 2 hours since he gets about an hour in the morning while we try to hold onto the last bits of sleep, depending on what time he wakes up. i love the saturdays he doesnt wake up until after 8! i never knew i would one day think of 8am as 'sleeping in' haha
I guess no one has answered because we are all guilty of allowing our children too much tv time. I for one admit that I am not the parent completely devoted to entertaining my girls personally. The tv gives them something to do while I clean up and make whatever meal everyone is waiting for.

I would have to say they watch about an hour and a half of tv in the evenings Monday thru Thursday and no less than 3 hours Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. But, my house is clean and there are no dirty dishes in the sink.
