I used to have the job from hell where just driving in (on any day of the week) made me cringe. But, I used positive thinking methods and listening to uplifting gospel music every morning and prayer to govern how I conrtrolled my thinking.
It allowed me to pace myself and not let students, staff and their overwhelming demands get the best of me.
Even though I worked over 80 hours/wk I was able to have a positive outlook and I was able to share that with students that were in trouble.
Prayer, meditation and gospel music...worked for me. Everyday - not just Monday.
i always think of monday's as a fresh start! like a new clean blank notebook on the first day of school! yes, every week! but then sometimes by 2pm i am already thinking 'is it friday yet?' which is a clue to go take a walk, perhaps draging a coworker with me and using starbucks as an excuse destination. cures it every time!
